Book Review: Would You Rather? Made You Think by Lindsey Daly

Disclaimer I received a free copy of this ebook through netgalley.com

I wanted to give this one a try as I thought it would be fun for my son and I.  It has resulted in hours of fun "would you rather?" conversations, giggles and some story sharing.

I would recommend this for anyone really, regardless if you have children or not.  It could even be a good ice breaker for group meetings.

I will be purchasing a copy for myself and for some gifts.

Book review: Dear Girl by Aija Mayrock

Dear Girl by Aija Mayrock

(Cover Image: from goodreads.com)

Disclaimer - this review is based on a free copy received through Netgalley.com

Audiobook - read by the author (Aija Mayrock) and about 45 minutes long

This book is listed as poetry, which is not the usual genre that I would read/listen. However, I am glad that I noticed the audiobook and took a risk on listening to it.

This book is a powerful listen for all women. This book should be given to all women, regardless of their age. If you are able to get a copy of the audiobook or the physical book, please do so.

The author is able to convey the powerful nature of the poetry.

New Lease on Life

Okay, I get the no one is reading this and it is all for me and my state of mind.  I am going to post at least once a week.  I will post about books that I am reading, knitting that I am working on, recipes that I have tried and other ramblings.

This will be my accountability record to myself.

New Year, New Commitments

As the new year rolls in, I have decided on a few things:

1. To complete all the UFOs that are taking up space in my knitting area
2. To knit at least one sock a month
3. To knit at least two wash clothes a month

4. To work on following the GI Diet
5. To work towards eating from the "rainbow" of fruits and vegetables every day
6. To walk at least 30 minutes every day
7. To write here at least three times a week

Bzz Agent: 411.ca

I belong to a review based website called bzzagent.  My current campaign is for 411.ca . To me this website speaks for itself.  I use it every day, either at work or at home.  I can do reverse searches, search for businesses or people.  I really like the map feature as well.

Back on plan

After a few weeks of dieting with no success, I went off the plan for a little over a week.  Well, I gain back the weight. Big surprise. So starting tomorrow morning I am back on the plan. I will work harder at meal planning, which is my weakest spot and hope for the best.

The Road to a New Me

I decided to join WW again.  I am doing the online program.  I started about three weeks ago.  I was not completely committed to it.  I started weighing myself on a crappy cheap scale and the numbers seemed off.  So I bought a new scale yesturday and found that I weigh more than I thought.  So after this weekend, I am going to really make a go of it.  There are a few "trigger" foods in the house now and I am going to be cleaning the kitchen out today and tomorrow and starting fresh.  I am going to start meal planning and I hope that that helps.  Working and driving 2 hours during the week does not make it easy to eat great at night if you have not planned ahead.  I am going to do some baking this week as well, so I can have "treats" in the house and try and help keep me away from the crap.
